Welcome to the forestry science programme
There's a lot to consider as a new student: Where will you live? What do you need to do to register for your first course? Where is the university located? How do you find the enrolment session? How do you apply for student finance from CSN? How do you become a member of the student union?
The first thing you should do if you've accepted a place on the forestry science programme in Umeå is to secure somewhere to live before term starts. There are several landlords in Umeå and a variety of areas to choose from.
AB Bostaden is the municipal housing company and the largest provider. If you have been on the waiting list for over a year, it's usually not too difficult to get a student room with them. However, if you're looking for something larger, you'll need to plan well in advance.
If you're unable to find accommodation, the student union has two temporary rental apartments available. See more under Renting accommodation and contact the welcome officers—they'll be happy to assist you!
To register for your first course and thus the programme, you must attend the enrolment session on the first day. If you're unable to attend, you must contact the study administrator.

The university is located at Skogsmarksgränd 17, 90736 Umeå. SLU is situated in its own section of Umeå Campus, on the eastern side.
